Video Games are the New Charades
My girlfriend and I had drinks and played video games last night with another couple, and I realized that video games are the parlor games of our generation. Where people years ago would have played charades and pictionary, we played Mario Kart 64 and Super Smash Bros. There was still the stereotypical couple team-ups, competitiveness and squabbling, but just with new technologies.
Something I was thinking of as my girlfriend was getting mad at me for relentlessly owning everyone in Mario Party 2.
